H.W.
question about building upon quantizations-- i.e. if I quantize my drum track to 16th notes and then use a groove template on top of that-- will the groove template quantize the already quantized 16th note version of the track or, the original "unquantized" track that I just played in manually- how can I ensure that it quantizes the already quantized track? thanks-
Jordi Torres
how can I ensure that it quantizes the already quantized track? Select the region and go to the MIDI menu and select Region Parameters > Apply Quantization Settings Destructively (or use the key command). Pre-quantization The Apply Quantization Settings Destructively function is especially well suited to pre- quantization. As an example, if a recorded MIDI Region cannot be quantized to a 1/16 swing without producing a few incorrectly timed notes, quantize it to 1/16th notes and then use Apply Quantization Settings Destructively. You can now apply any swing quantization to this cleaned-up version of the MIDI Region. -The manual- J.
H.W.
great, thanks so the method is to quantize first, then select "apply setting destructively" for each time you want to preserve the setting?
