grimmdude
Hey everyone, I'm working on my collection to hopefully soon submit some tunes to a few production music libraries. Could I trouble you fine fellas for some feedback on this tune? Much appreciated. My motivation was mellow, relaxing, consistent. Nothing too fancy. Hope this workz: 'Evening Stroll' http://soundcloud.com/greatbowlsoffire/evening-stroll
fuzzfilth
The timing is all over the place in a not good way. Also, the mix is off considerably. Unless you aimed for that. But then it still is. Production music has reached quite high standards nowadays. This won't make it, I fear. Christian
grimmdude
Also tips on the levels and the mix in general would be a great help to me.
grimmdude
Christian, truly appreciate the feedback. What about the mix is off? I think I've listened to it so many times that I have the blinders on a little. Thanks
fuzzfilth
Depends on what you're aiming at, but try this: If you play it very, very quiet, all that sticks out is the sidestick. Or, listen to a normal volume, but from the other room. The delay on the guitar is quite distracting at times, especially when the guitar's timing is, um, less than optimal. It sounds like you just bought yourself a delay pedal at Guitar Center. This honeymoon period is normal, don't worry, but be aware of it. I'd say, retrack the guitar (or spends hours and hours in micro-editing it) so it's tighter, and it's delays will follow, and automate the send to the delay so you have the delay less prominent when the guitar is busy and/or the pitches of the notes/repeats would clash too much. grimmdude
OK thanks for the tips. I'll see what I can do about tightening up that guitar line and def turning down the delay.
grimmdude
OK, I've done some changes on this one. How's the mix this time around?
