Recycle import yields unexpected timings

This may be a basic user error - but can someone help me understand what the best practice is for importing a REX file into an EXS instrument using the Recycle feature. I am on Logic 9. I have successfully imported the file and generated a MIDI sequence - yet the MIDI events are not quantizing bang on the divisions - see my screengrab below. I appreciate I can set the quantize myself and make everything exact - but then when I do this the loop doesn't sound as tight. This doesn't make sense. This is my first time at importing REX files into Logic - so any best practice advice re:quantize settings would be appreciated.
