Giannis
I'm about to install Logic 9 on my MacBook but the DVD drive has gone broken (and for some reason the external Samsung DVD I bought won't work either). Is it possible to copy the install DVDs to harddrive and then install from an external drive? I also need to copy the installation files to harddisk via a PC. Can this be done? triplets
The only way to do that is to create disk images from the DVDs. See if you can create disk images from Disk Utility with the external DVD drive you have. The files should have a .dmg extension.
Giannis
Ok, thanks! I will have to use the PC as none of the DVD drives work for the MacBook right now. It's not possible to just copy the files of the installation DVDs then? Do you know of any PC utility that can create dmg files?
triplets
The only way to fool the computer is to have dmg files for the actual installation. Try this link: http://www.asy.com/dmg.htm
