Eriksimon Posted March 1, 2011 Share Posted March 1, 2011 I think you should try and ease up on the compression/limiting, these are breathing drums, but they're somewhat short of breath... open them toms up more (panning?) and add some/lots of studio-ish reverb. The snare/toms/kick is/are squashed too much, it should bring a bit more punch/crispness/snappyness, it's pretty steamrollered now. If you insist on heavy compression, don't put it all on the main output, it sounds too "compacted", like too many clothes in a suitcase. Imho.
