Babe
I need to change one bar from 3/4 to 4/4. When I do so, all the regions in the following measures move over a beat, meaning, if a region started on beat 1 of a bar, it would now start on beat 2. Is there a way to stop this behavior? David Nahmani
Yes. What you want to do is to insert a beat (or a bar of 1/4): drag a one beat long cycle are and choose Edit > Cut/Insert Time > Insert Silence Between Locators. Logic will prompt you to change the current bar from 3/4 to 4/4.
Babe
Thanks for the quick reply David, it worked just fine. However, adding a beat didn't solve a problem that I can't figure out why it's happening. The project starts off with timpani. Adds some instruments. Then in bar 10, there is another timp hit. If I start playback at the beginning, this hit sounds much louder that if I start at any other point, including beat 2 of the piece. I thought adding a silent beat the beginning might fix this. David Nahmani
OK for that new problem, start a new thread, and detail a bit more what instrument is used etc... or better yet attach your logic project file (don't include any audio files) to the thread. Babe
Solved the other problem. Had to do with the EQ. If the shut the EQ off and on right before bar 10, it sounds as it should. Now the question is why this behavior? It doesn't matter which one of Logic's EQs I use.
