keys_guitar
using Logic Pro 9 using a Motif XS and am using a certain Motif environment I found on the net, I have 4 midi trks I imported, now I am trying to record a new one on a completely new channel even, I record enable the new trk and now when I Record then all the midi data is feeding back in and getting recorded instead of just the new midi data I am attempting to record from the keyboard. I'm sure its something in the environment routing that is causing this but, I am just learning Logic. Dan my clicks and ports environment
Jordi Torres
The Motif XS Multi-Instrument object in your pic shouldn't be connected to the sequencer input object. Disconnect it and leave it "floating" aside (reconnect the the cable from input view monitor to sequencer input). Create external MIDI tracks and assign them to the Motif from the Library tab. J. sambirch19
In addition to Jordito's spot on answer, it is good practice to put the 'Multi-Instrument object' in your case the "Motif XS" in the 'Midi Instr.' layer of the environment (click on the drop down triangle in the top left corner next to where it says 'Clicks & Ports' and select the 'Midi Instr.' layer). The object can easily be cut and paste onto the correct layer.
keys_guitar
Thanks for the replies. I think that should do it. I had to go out of town for a few days but when I return I will check this out. Dan
