Why does Logic 8 crash instead of transposition? [SOLVED]

Hi.

This may be old and reported issue but I am a bit of a newbie, so I'll ask this anyway.

 

Project: about 1 hour live concert with about 10 audio tracks.

Problem: kick drum track has some electric click with each kick.

Mission: replace the kick drum sound with some kick from Logic's library.

 

I found a tutorial in YouTube which told how to make this:

Factory -> Audio To Score.

Now I have an Instrument track full on shattered midi-notes all around.

Now I should activate the track and click:

Functions -> Transform -> Transposition.

 

But everytime I do this the Logic crashes down!

 

I tried with shorter clip -> crash.

I tried with a project without audio and only the midi clip -> crash.

I tried to make the instrument track with midi notes from the beginning -> crash.

 

Can this be something about midi preferences? I have no midi instruments connected.

Not sure why that crashes, but you could open the Event List, select all your kick MIDI notes in there, and Option-Shift-drag the pitch of one of the kicks: they will all snap to the same pitch.

Perhaps:

When using Transform, try and avoid dragging values up or down, better is to doubleclick the value and type. May just work for you.

Event List! Of course!

 

I am not sure if I did as You adviced but somehow the Transposition worked thru Event List. Now I have a decent kick drum.
