Staleyolk
Alright so here's the dilemma, I just got a new macbook pro and put a Kingston 128 GB SSD and 8GB of ram in it. I wanna start installing Logic as I have lots to install over the next week. But I'm still waiting a couple more days on two Glyph Portagig 62's. (One for Logic Projects; One for Virtual instruments/Synths) I've never done this type of setup before I always used to have all my libraries, Logic, and projects all on the internal drive of my Imac. So can I install Logic now and move the folder later??? Or what is the process I should be taking here? -Matthew
David Nahmani
Yes, install everything on the internal now, move some of the media content later, not a problem.
Staleyolk
Thanks david... So it is just a click and drag of the logic Folder From Macintosh H D/Myname/Music to the new location? Seems easy enough. Will it try and autosort new projects to the internal in the future leaving me to add each individual project by hand... or will it recognize the new external location and autosort there? David Nahmani
No, it's not exactly that simple. You can read this for samplers instruments: http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=266879#266879 For Apple Loops you can just move them to your external, then drag them over our loop browser to reindex them. As for "autosort", I'm not sure what you mean. If you want your project on a certain drive, just open them in Logic, choose File > Save As and save them to the desired drive.
