Kontakt Suddenly No Output

I'm using LASS string library via kontakt which was working fine up until I last turned on the mac... now I can't get a sound through it at all. EXS24 works fine on any channels.

 

I can hear the sounds when I play the keys on the kontakt controller screen keyboard, but I can't play or record to logic.

 

I'm using Mac 1.8GHz powerPC G5, OS 10.5.8 and Logic Pro 8.0.2

Make sure your midi channel on the track parameter box on the left is set to "ALL." This can be seen by opening the disclosure triangle above the channel strip when selecting your kontakt instrument track.

 

You may have also inadvertently push the small "s" on the bottom of a channel strip. Open your mixer, set it to view "all" and scan the bottoms of your channel strips to make sure there are no solo modes enabled ("glowing s")

 

(wish I could just take a screenshot of what I'm taking about. Maybe one of the cool logic people can help us out with that!)

do you mean set to 'all' in the mixer window?

 

Nothing's solo'd nothing's muted, all set up exactly the same as always...

 

I tried opening another project with kontakt and they worked fine - this is a completely new project I've just started and literally all I've done is exactly the same as normal, I can see input when I press keys, but no sound.

 

So annoying as I have 5 tracks to write before monday!

ok now logic won't even start, just hangs at 'scanning exs24 instruments'...

 

This doesn't normally happen, i tried reinstalling kontakt and that didn't make a difference, lately I've had a lot of trouble starting logic, or when it does start it tells me the hard disk is too slow and keeps stopping??

 

I have 500GB of free space on my hard disk and it's brand new.

 

I also ran applejack which seemed to solve it briefly but now the problem is back...

What channel in the arrange window is the tracks midi set to? What channel is Kontact set too?

 

If both are either one the same one, or Konakt is set to OMNI (then it doesn't matter what channel ..

 

 

edit: I didn't see that last post.. you have issues other than the described above. I'd call 911 asap. Or re-install, but wait for a pro to respond.
