willpadgett
I'm writing a film score in Logic, using some instances of Kontakt and EWQLSO. All of a sudden, this very irritating problem comes up--all of the multi-timbral tracks of one Kontakt instance are automatically going to neg. inf. on the volume inside the Kontakt player! The volume automation lines do not indicate a neg. inf., it just 'defaults' back to the muted-ness after pausing the video in a certain place. What have I done? camillo jr
Just to clarify, are you saying that individual volume sliders inside Kontakt's GUI are resetting themselves to zero and not the ones on the arrange?
willpadgett
Thanks for asking, though I'm not sure. I believe that Kontakt's volume sliders are normal, but the automations which are linked to those volume sliders are flipping to -inf.
camillo jr
Can you post a screen shot of what this looks like? And - I'm wondering if you're doing something with the fader connected to the main instance of Kontakt. Unless you have set up some auxes to output the individual sounds inside Kontakt, any change to Kontakt's channel strip fader will change the volume for all the instruments loaded into that instance. In the same vein, muting Kontakt's channel strip will mute all sounds in that instrument.
