james m
Hi, I have a constant problem trying to control the volume level with a software drum track I've created in Logic 9. As soon as the drums come in after the intro counts when played back, the volume whacks itself up to 0.0 from the level I thought I'd set it to and deafens me. Lowering the volume level in the mixer, or lowering the level using automation seems to do nothing at all. As soon as I go back to the start of the track, the same thing, it jumps right up again and blows my ears. Where am I going wrong, and how do I retain control over my volumes?! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, James
Scott Jackson
Press A on your keyboard, check for Volume Automation. If none, select the Region where the volume change occurs and press E on your keyboard to open the Event List. Click Notes to filter out the notes and see if there are any Volume Data Controller 7 events. It there are, select them and press Delete. If either of those are not the issue, then do you have a MIDI Controller connected to your computer? If so, it may be sending rogue messages, unplug it and see if the problem gets resolved. There was indeed a Volume Data Controller 7 Event in the Events List, which I deleted and I now have control again! Many, many thanks for your help with this.
