steveastanga
What is the best way that I can get an optimal signal from my guitar amp's 'emulated output', into Logic? I have an Apogee Duet, but it doesn't have a stereo in. Do I need a stereo splitter and go in via to the two guitar inputs, or would a high impedance input affect the signal quality? Failing that, what else (affordable) is out there for stereo audio into Logic via my powerbook. Thanks!
David Nahmani
The optimal input for an instrument is an instrument input (which your Duet has). However the guitar is a mono instrument, so the best is to use only one input and record onto a mono track, with a mono Amp Designer plug-in. I mean there are better instrument input boxes out there such as that one for example, but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for (you're looking at a lot of money) - you should be able to get a perfectly decent job out of your Duet.
