jimi christian
Im new to logic and recently got Komplete 5. Im looking to use logic and battery 3 right now, and am having trouble using ultrabeat as a drum sequencer. I was wondering if anyone knows of a drum sequencing program that allows more than 2-4 bars of sequence space. with the 32 spots available for ultrabeat, am i missing something, or does that make any beat sequence short? i know many people use short loops, but i do more jazz and classical stuff, so i need long loops that go on for like 4-8 bars. any help or direction would be much appreciated. David Nahmani
I was wondering if anyone knows of a drum sequencing program that allows more than 2-4 bars of sequence space. I know a ton of them, one of them is.... "Logic"! What are you looking for in a drum sequencer that you can't do in the Piano Roll, Score, Event List or Hyper Editor? Have you tried that last one (Hyper Editor) with the "GM Drums" Hyper Set? (you choose hyper sets from the Inspector). You can even customize the Hyper Editor to show you only the sounds you use (or wish to use). with the 32 spots available for ultrabeat, am i missing something, or does that make any beat sequence short? It depends on the resolution. If the step is 1/8 note, 32 steps is a 4 bar loop. If the resolution is 1/32 then 32 steps is only one bar. Keep in mind this is a Step sequencer. The goal of a step sequencer is to create a "pattern", which is usually a short loop. i know many people use short loops, but i do more jazz and classical stuff, so i need long loops that go on for like 4-8 bars. any help or direction would be much appreciated. You use Loops for classical and jazz? Anyway, I would consider the Hyper Editor, see if you like it? Otherwise maybe start looking into a 3rd party Drum plug-in that has a step sequencer integrated that gives you more than 32 steps? That would be a question for the "Control Room" forum.
