Logic Exp 8 + MOTU 828 mkII: How to get audio out of Mac?

I recently switched from Digital Performer (4!) to Logic 8 Express and am having some trouble getting the audio setup. I have gotten all working correctly so that "Device" (in LE 8 there's only one, not input and output) is the MOTU, and I record and playback correctly, but the only option for output seems to be sending back out through the MOTU channels. If I monitor through the MOTU's phones socket I hear all fine, but I'd like to be able to listen through the Mac speakers (no budget for separate monitors at this point, and I don't want to wear phones all the time). Is there any way to do this? If you have any precise instructions on how to make this happen, would be very grateful. I'm a complete LE newbie, though I've recorded for years (also operating on old equipment: Mac iMac G4, 1.25 GHz, 768MB RAM -- too little I know but LE runs OK)

Thanks -- that helped (the actual link for me was http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1215 as I'm running 10.5/Leopard)

But not there yet. When I set it up Logic 8 Express books channels 1 and 2 IN as Built-In Audio IN apparently -- I lose the first two channels from my MOTU, and then each MOTO channel is bumped up 2 (so that channel 6 comes in at Channel 8). At least the Built-In Audio out works fine --

In the Audio/MIDI setup it doesn't seem to offer any way to turn off or redirect Built-In Audio in (this is in Leopard, as per diagrams in link above).

Any help much appreciated! (And one other question: what should the default clock source be -- the MOTU 828?)
