A Little Direction, Please...

Hi - New to the forum. New to Logic. I'm a fan of electronic music, namely the Residents, but broadening my listening every day. Most recently I've gotten in to Squarepusher. So, I was under the impression that all I needed was a MIDI controller, Audio Interface and Logic, and then the world would be my oyster. However, the more I read/watch about drum machines, samplers and sequencers, synthesizers, bass line synths, and so on, I'm wondering, DOES Logic give me all of the aforementioned tools and technology? Can I create a song like Squarepusher or the Residents (minus the obvious vocal criteria) with Logic alone? And if so, could you provide some general direction on what the workflow looks like? I'd like top be able to create sequences and customize sound signals etc. Sorry this is so vague, but any direction - or REDIRECTION - would be much appreciated. Thanks. AC

Logic does not give you every tool or sound available in the entire universe. Neither does any other single tool.

However, it does give you *plenty* and if your new at this, Logic will be way better than your skillset and you'll have a looong way to go before you exhaust what Logic can do.

So, would you say that a MIDI controller and audio interface are all that I need? That a BOSS Drum Machine, Roland Synth, Akai Sampler, Roland Bass Synth, etc. are *more or less* rolled into Logic. I guess a better way to ask might be, does software (i.e., Logic) replace the need for these other pieces of software?
