MariaSoundMam
Hi there, this has been bugging me for too long and still haven't figured it out (hang head in shame lol) .. I am trying to create a double of some regions - so i want the original to stay where it is, copy it, and paste the region to another track in the exact same position please? So both tracks play in unison. Help please!? i have been doing it by eye zooming in extremely close then 'time stamp to original record position'[ but this is cumbersome and no good if you you want it in the same position as the original but not where it was initially recorded. One would think there is a command to ensure it is 100% accurate? Thanks,MSM
Jordi Torres
Use the "Paste at Original Position" command. Look it up in the key commands window. J.

Scott Jackson
Jorditos suggestion is probably the best for your situation but here's another technique that might come in handy at times. Click/hold the region you want to Copy and Move. Press and hold Option, press and release Shift. Now you can drag a copy to the destination track and it will only drag in one direction. Make sure you release Click/Hold before releasing Option or you will just Move the original instead of Copying it.

I've attached a screenshot from the manual which explains the difference between Learn by Key Label and Learn by Key Position. Also, in case you didn't know. To find various commands quickly in the Key Commands window you can enter key words in that windows search field (see second attachment).
