ckang1124
I need to score a short 12min clip but every time i play it back it freezes for 2-3 sec and jumps into the video. I've tried .mov, mp4, and avi formats but all have the same problem. tried messing with frame rate sync as well but none worked. I have a 27" i7 imac system with digi 003 Rack + . Can anyone help me out to resolve this issue?
Jordi Torres
If the video was encoded with the H.264 codec or similar, your machine is going to have a real hard time decoding it, hence the sluggish behavior in Logic. J.

ski
Get the client to provide you with a copy of the film encoded using a DV codec. Don't try and convert the file yourself unless you are expert at transcoding video. So call/contact the client and have them re-render the film using DV. ckang1124
it's actually a video film scoring project from school. I guess it won't matter if i mess w/ conversions. I'll give it a try. Thank you for your help!

You're welcome! Now, couple of other things... Even though you converted the file, did you swap out the original movie file with your conversion in Logic? (May be a stupid question, but it can't hurt to ask. I guess... ) Second, are you running this movie from your system drive? If so, how much free space do you have on that drive? (BTW, it's never a good idea to stream video from your system drive.) Next, is this a film that other students in your class are scoring? If so, are they experiencing the same problem? I did swap it out. I started new session and imported the video. 2. I'm running from system drive and just found out that i only had 24gigs left so i moved the clip to my external drive and imported from there. It's still no use... 3. I am the only student.. It's a private lesson type of thing from school.

Jordi Torres
you could always try photo jpeg, that one works well too...but if DV ain't working good I don't see how photo jpeg would magically work J.
