Johnny Yen Again
I just noticed that after installing a few new Jam Packs that I have a significant amount of dulicate loops in my library. Can you please recomend and way of deleting them and hopefully a way that allows it to be done in one feel swoop instead of individually?
Sellemar
Can someone please answer this question. I have the same issue in Logic 9.
David Nahmani
Are the duplicated loops user loops or factory loops?
Sellemar
Very few user loops. What I have is Apple loops for GarageBand, Apple loops for Soundtrack Pro, iLife Sound effects, Jam Pack 1, Jam Pack remix tools, Jam Pack Rhythm Section, Jam Pack Symphony Orchestra, Jam Pack Voices, Jam Pack World Music. My sessions require a broad spectrum of sounds so i plan on keeping what I have and adding Logic X. The duplicates is a concern though and I haven't found a way to trim the excess. David Nahmani
Ok - but my question was which of your loops are duplicated: the user loops? the factory loops (all those GB and STP loops, iLife and Jam packs....)? Both? I do remember an issue with duplicated factory content in early Logic Pro 9 versions, and I think it was a bug. I remember attending Apple presentation and seeing duplicate factory content in the Apple presenter's library, which made me think "ok it's not just me at least". Have you considered upgrading to Logic Pro 9.1.8?
Sellemar
Ahhhh OK. I never thought to look for duplicate installs. Here's what I found in the Logic loops view show all drop down menu.. Looks like there are duplicates and maybe even three installs. I did find loops in the user folder and the Library folder. What now? is one folder safe to delete in one location vs another? EDIT: I did the 9.1.8 upgrade some time ago. David Nahmani
I did find loops in the user folder and the Library folder. What now? is one folder safe to delete in one location vs another? If you find the exact same loops in both locations, then yes, you should delete one of them. All factory content (Jam Packs etc...) should normally be in the root library, not in the user library. I would remove the loops from the user library (just in case, don't delete them just yet, move them to the desktop), restart Logic, control-click the Loop browser result list and reindex the User loops.
