sjheisler
I realize this a Logic forum but I'm having software issues with my Mac and I'm curious if anyone may know why... Last week I updated a whole bunch of my gear; I purchased a brand new Mac Book Pro, loaded it with my old Logic 8, then updated Logic 8 to 9 and now I'm trying to load the Mac with Native Instruments' Komplete 7 (which I also bought new). 4 times I've gotten to the step where I insert Kontakt 4: Disc B and installation fails. I exchanged NA's Komplete 7 after the second fail for another new copy and had the same result. Any ideas??? Thanks
Jordi Torres
Where are you installing kontakt's library? The MBP's internal disk? How much space do you have left? You could try to make an image of the disc and install from that. J.
sjheisler
I'm allowing every setting of installation to be default, so it's being put on the internal disc. Also, it's a brand new MB with 500GB of hard drive space, aside from loading up Logic 8 and updating to 9, I have nothing else taking up space -I haven't even transfered a single .mp3/4 or logic file from my old computer yet. The message I got upon installation failure was something like "installation has failed because there was no software on the disc". I find it hard to believe that I could have gotten lame discs twice but maybe... Just so odd that all 4 failures happened at the exact same place. Jordi Torres
Try making a image of that disc using disk utility? J.
sjheisler
So i called Native Instruments today to find out if they had any insight... Turns out there was a manufacture's defect in the disc that kept aborting the installation. They sent me a link to get the correct software as well as an email to request a functional hard disc to be home delivered. I'm yet to try reinstalling but I feel good about my chances. Thanks for your help, Best -s
Jordi Torres
Cool, let us know how it turns out. J.
jwhitesides
I had the exact same issue. They also sent me a link to download the disc in question. Once it was downloaded and burned to a DVD installation was completed no issues.
