Trackstaar
Greetings all. I have the M-Audio Radium 49 midi controller and have recently begun a system overhaul; ditching my original Macbook for a 2010 Mac Pro. I'm having a hard time using the faders on the radium to control faders in the mix window in Logic Pro 8.0.2. I recently had to part ways with my Tascam US 428 (archaic, I know...) as it was my main control surface fully integrated with Logic. Since it's no longer compatible with Snow Leopard and I'm looking to purchase Mackie's Control Pro in the next couple of months, I figured why not use what I have? I'd hate to have to revert to mixing with a mouse as that will totally ruin my creative flow. P.S. The main fader works fine, but I can't get the group of faders to the right of the controller to function at all. Attempting to do a "Learn Assignment" doesn't work either. Any thoughts on a fix? David Nahmani
The faders should work fine.. what do you see in your MIDI In display (transport bar) when moving one of them? FWW using non-motorized faders for mixing is nearly impossible though: any movement you make on a software fader will not be reproduced on your control surface. Any time you change bank of faders the fader positions on your hardware no longer match the position of the software fader they're representing, and moving them will accomplish nothing until the hardware faders "catch" the current software values, etc... I use a Radium 49 set up so my faders control the mixers faders & panning, the behaviour I get is the Logic fader jumps to the position of the radium fader as soon as I move it. I'd much prefer to have the "soft" take up option where the Logic fader keeps still until the Radium fader gets to that point but I've never noticed that as an option.
