clintoncole
So say I start out with a synth, and I play some crazy melody and want to match the metronome, how do i do this? is it even necessary? I started a new project and played around with some instruments found a melody I liked quantized it to 1/16th note and set back the Q strength so it wasn't so robotic but it completely ruins the flow... How do I put my idea on Logic to where it still sounds like my idea when quantized so that all the other instruments can be quantized for a tighter result... thanks
David Nahmani
Hey Clinton! If you remember, in the Logic 301 class, we covered "Beat Mapping" to do exactly what you're talking about but with a rubato piano-solo performance. The exercise is in your book on page 93: "Working with Rubato Passages". At first the exercise uses a MIDI region but then later it uses an Audio region, which is what you want to do.
