Proper steps to maintain volume setting, for midi instrument

For an individual midi track in Logic 9.1.4 on a MacBook Pro; in order to set a volume-I select 1 track, go to automation, drag a volume setting to ideal setting volume, 'command save' and press space to start the mix. The volume jumps to a different volume setting than the one I set.

How do I maintain the volume setting I am trying to establish. I can alternatively go to the channel and move the channel fader and command save this setting. This to, seems to have no affect. Thanks for the help. Ed

You either have Track Automation (open Automation View (Command+A) and check for Track Automation of Volume) or you may have Region Automation (select a region where the problem occurs and press Command+E to open the Event List, click on Notes to filter the notes out and look for Volume Data Controller 7 Events, select them and delete them) or it could be rogue messages from a connected MIDI controller.

Think I must be in the wrong section of the program. Selected 1 tracks, & track automation. A drop-down appeared & I selected delete all automation. When tapping on the space bar, again the volume went to a position, other than I tried to save it in.

Next Went to command +E. Tracks as audio file appeared. Save as Roundback accoustic (instrument I had previously selected appeard), Location was set to Bounced-not looking correct, I cancelled. I appreciate your reply, but as of this moment I am still stuck. Ed
