joshbgosh
Hi thanks for stopping by... I am finding this really difficult. Im using the MBOX2 with Logic 8 i I have posted before and the answer was kind of helpful - Turn all the tracks down so you your vocal sits above... Great.. did that.. helped a lot...thanks.. But i still have problems with Vocal level distortion even with no other Tracks palying... just achieving a clean vox signal seems so hard.. for kit that cost £400? I am now revisiting the issue with high hopes of conquering it once and for all! Something is just not right with the way i seem to have to sit the gain, volume..Mix knob and settings within a TINY parameter window or it WILL distort! I have all the tracks now routed through a bus and turned right right down, and the vocal track up.. the pad button seems to help on the MBOX and i also have a pad switch on the AT4033 condenser mic. Latency is also an issue if i keep the mix knob low...so many things seem to affect the outcome in this situation...i'm baffled that it should be this hard.. It seems ever so difficult to get a vocal without it distorting.. I keep putting this off (trying to get it sorted out) and hence have a lot of tracks missing the vocals It's time to really try and get to the bottom of what ever i am doing wrong ..or wether there is an issue with the MBOX - unlikely i know because is records guitars very well with no issue.. i get levels on guitars absolutely fine... then i a mic with an XLR and it's as if im using a totally different system. Is this really all down to volumes and my lack of understanding for monitoring? Maybe... to have this confirmed would be great.. I searched other forums and have found others with the exact same problems.. http://recording.org/pro-recording-forum/39138-mbox-2-problem.html Any help with this would be fabulous. many thanks Josh

joshbgosh
Thanks I use DI guitars mostly But what i meant was that if there was an actually software or driver problem with the box then it surely would effect any audio signal trying to pass through it.. Ok cheers for the pointers. Will check now thanks
