jboaudioe
i was wondering if it is okay to clip certain instruments but not too much? or should i not clip at all?
David Nahmani
Define "clipping instruments"? If you mean their individual channel strips go into the red, then that's not clipping in Logic. If you mean you're clipping the A/D when recording them, then that's not recommended.

ski
That's right. Clipping is not good. Creates a distorted, ugly sound. But depending on which meters you're looking at, sometimes being in the red produces no ugly sound whatsoever. So which meters are you talking about? Holger Lagerfeldt
when the channel strips volume goes into the red .... my instructor told me if that happens ,,, its not good As David said, clipping the individual channels in Logic doesn't actually clip those channels. Clipping the stereo output will clip. So lower the stereo output fader.
