skylark414
Getting an error message suddenly when recording that says the "motion detector has parked the hard drive" or some such. What does this mean and how do I stop it from happening? I read the reset instructions involving the mac prompt etc, but that doesn't seem relevant. triplets
Usually happens when you ask the drive for too much at the same time. Which drive is it? Internal? External FW? USB drive?
skylark414
It's a firewire 800; I'd recorded 6 tracks of drums with no problem, but it seems to choke trying to play back. Anything I can do to thin stuff out? Or is the speed of my Mac Pro the problem? Thanks
triplets
If you have a Mac Pro, you should record to a second internal drive, much faster than firewire for sure.

lperryman
David...I rececntly changed RAM to 8gb in my Macbook Pro ...I'm running Mainstage but am getting this same issue ..Parked hard drive ...its seems to be big spike in the CPU first then sound cuts out ..I get the window that says motion detected I press ok and it works again ..Would this have anything to do with the RAM install? ..I bought the RAM to run it in 64bit but some of my plugins dont work right so Ive gone back to 32 bit as the bridge crashes a lot ...It says motion sensor detected 'enabled' ...maybe turn that off! lperryman
yeah .. i play keyboards so I have a laptop stand attached to the keyboard stand ...So I guess with dodgy stages it can move around ..Just strange I gigged for a year with no issues but since upgrade of RAM its started happening ... thinking about it if I put a SSD drive in that should sort any movement issues? I played out using Mainstage with the laptop directly on my keys. I had no problems with the motion thing turned off. I switched back to real keyboards for many other reasons. John Reid
I had this message pop up recently on my Mac Pro; turned out that it was a HD about to fail. I'd check out that angle as well.
