David Martin
Hi there, Having a very frustrating problem that started in the past day or two. Every channel in logic is panning slightly to the left (-11 or 12) for no obvious reason. I don't have automation switched on (as in OFF, not READ or any other setting). When I look at the automation line for Pan it is set to -11 as you would expect if it were reading the automation but when I set pan back to zero and start to play it jumps to -11 again as if reading automation (even though I adjust the automation line to zero). Please help - close to kicking the thing out of the window. Thanks in advance
Scott Jackson
Click on a Region in the Arrange where the Panning occurs. Open the Event List (press E). In the Event List click on Notes to filter out all note events. Now look for Pan events. If present, select them and delete them.
Eriksimon
For those tracks/regions, open your Event List (key: "E"), hide the Notes by clicking its' Filter button, then select every MIDI CC 10 message (called "Pan") and delete them. (Select one, then use the Select Similar Events command and delete. MIDI CC messages ignore any automatiom mode, they always "work", whether your track is set to Read or not. I wish I would of thought of that. Now my reply just seems like a meaningless waste of time.
David Martin
Hi guys - thanks for the tips but this happens even when there's no region/nothing in the channel. It happens when I am just pressing play...does tat make sense?

Jordi Torres
Hi guys - thanks for the tips but this happens even when there's no region/nothing in the channel. It happens when I am just pressing play...does tat make sense? Make sense, yes. The CC10 messages must be coming from outside Logic, from a connected MIDI device. Test if it stops by activating the Control Changes filter in Settings > MIDI > Input Filter. J.

Do you need to know what midi devices are plugged in too I guess? Into Soundcard: Fatar SL990 (via midi port) Into Mac via USB: M audio Oxygen 8 Out of mac via USB: Elektron Turbo Midi to Elektron Machine Drum Cheers D
Jordi Torres
You could use MIDI Monitor to help you figure out from which device they're coming from...or do it manually by plugging one thing at a time. My guess: it's the Oxygen8. J.
David Nahmani
Thanks David for adding your details. As Jordito suggested, I would unplug MIDI devices until the behavior stops to find the guilty device. Then you can dig in that device to figure out why it's sending data you don't want it to send. Best of luck!
David Martin
Thanks chaps - much appreciated. I think you're right, I think it's the O8 - I'm going to try a factory reset and also a different USB cable and see if those things solve the problem. Thanks again.
