T
I'm attempting to install on my laptop and use an external drive to hold the massive audio library, but the installation is not giving me an option to custom install, it is just saying that Logic must be installed on the main "running" drive and that it will take up over 50GB of space. Problem is I only have 45GB available and 120GB total on my 2006 Macbook Pro HD. That doesn't seem right that Logic has to take up that much space on the main drive w/o having the option to custom select where you want the bulk of the files to go. Isn't most of that 50+GB the audio libraries? Any helpful thoughts?

You need to open the little disclosure triangles in front of each media package, some of them (like the massive soundtrack pro ones) give you the option to be installed in any location you wish. That should be enough to reduce the install on the system drive to what you want, otherwise you can always move them later.
