Delay when recording audio into logic through soundcard

Why is there a slight delay when recording audio into logic? I want to record a dj

mix with my 1210s into logic but the delay is making beatmatching impossible

 

is there a way round this?

 

logic pro 7.1.0

m audio firewire solo soundcard

Make sure you don't have any latency inducing plugins going like Adaptive Limiter, Multipressor or Linear Phase EQ.

Second, check your I/O buffer in Logic's Preferences, shouldn't be above 128.

Third, make sure Plugin Delay Compensation is Off in Logic's Preferences.

 

I don't remember if all of this applies to Logic 7.
