Roland mc 909 groove box worth keeping?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I recently got into logic 9 and am wondering if there is any point keeping my roland mc 909 groovebox. (which hardly got used and I don't know how to use it.) Does logic do anything the 909 can do? I really want to concentrate on learning logic so I'm wondering if it's a waste of time even starting to learn the 909. I'm thinking I should just sell it since it's just going down in value. Wondering if anyone thinks I will regret it. My interests are producing hip hop and house.

Would love to hear from anyone with their opinions.

I think you should hang on it to since I made some of the factory preset sounds and styles :D

Other than that, and seriously, no - I don't think there's any reason to own a MC-909 when you've got Logic.

PS. I can't remember which ones I made, but it may say in the back of the manual or look for the initials HL.

I've been using Logic Pro 8 for a few years now (upgrade from Logic 7 Express) and I still like using my Roland MC-808. I like the presets in it, but more so I come from the old school of using drum machines and hardware synths....I like my knobs, buttons and LEDs.

I've written a few tracks on my 808 that will be specifically for an EP I hope to release next year.

Greetiings Lagerfeldt. I see a lot of users still rockin' that MC-909 on YouTube.
