jze
Hi I'm in the process of making a piece for 8 speakers. What i have seen so far is 7.1, and the LFE channel is only set on 'on' or you can adjust the levels for it. Is it possible to reconfigure logic to play out 8 individual mono channels like in Octophonie? I'm using logic 8 and a Edirol Fa101 audio interface. anyone? shivermetimbers
Simply connect up 8 speakers and send a signal to each. That is with logic. If you try and make a CD like this ... it's a different story.

The best way is to upgrade to Logic 9. However, the old way was to set your outputs to 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 and pan Channel 1 left, channel 2 right, etc. Forget about surround settings. jze
ah... so there is this function in logic 9 to configure the placement of the speakers? yes i've used that, the thing is i'm using dexter (jazzmutant) to control my surround outputs. which is a nice interface to move sounds' around. so i guess it won't work in logic 8. pity. i'll look into logic 9 before making a upgrade. thanks best d
