FlipFlopRob
I'm using a Midistart-3 Pro Keys keyboard but it doesn't seem to work. I've checked and according to their website this keyboard is OS X compliant, and apparently doesn't need a driver. I'm on a 15" Macbook Pro, and connecting it via USB. Tried using Audio Midi Setup too but doesn't seem to recognise anything? Can anybody help me out please?
David Nahmani
First, forget about Audio MIDI Setup, you don't need it for this. Now open Logic and open a new empty project. Look at the transport bar where it says "No in". That's a MIDI in monitor. Play notes or move knobs on your keyboard: do you see any data there? If yes, the keyboard is recognized by Logic. If no, try another USB cable, and/or another USB port on your computer.
emonzon
What version of OSX? I had no issues with my M-Audio Axiom 49. Just plugged it in, tested it in Audio/Midi set up and I was good to go. I didn't need a driver. Are you connected directly to the laptops usb port or to a Hub? Also try logisc pre made templates you know the ones that open up when opening a new file. try those and see if you get any sound.
Eriksimon
Have you tried a different USB port? I seem to remember that on some (or all?) MBP's there were USB ports with too little power for some MIDIcontrollers. Is the powerLED lit or not? (Wow, a true "replyvelange" here...) FlipFlopRob
Still not working. Tried different cables, ports, powering it with an adaptor instead of MIDI... Still not working, no MIDI In signal on Logic. Tried all the cables and combinations and then tested them on PC/Cubase, and works fine? Running latest version of Lion as well. David Nahmani
Check with the manufacturer and ask them if they have known compatibility issues with Lion? Try the keyboard with a non-Lion OS X machine? You could also try testing with MIDI Monitor just to rule out any kind of Logic issue - but honestly I don't think Logic is the culprit here.
