Iscariot13
I've been using DKH 2 since 2005 with Logic 7 and later with Logic 9 on my old iMac G5. Since switching to my new Intel i7 iMac, even though I reinstalled and successfully authorised DKH 2, it isn't recognised in Logic's AU manager. It works in stand-alone just fine. Any ideas anyone? Jordi Torres
Looks like Kompakt (the AU plug-in) is not compatible with your intel machine: http://www.native-instruments.com/knowledge/questions/489/My+software+does+not+appear+in+the+plug-in+list+of+Logic+7%7B47%7D8+-+%28Mac%29 It's been discontinued for a while now so I wouldn't be surprised. I doubt it's related to plug-ins not being scanned in 64bit mode. I'd say it's time to update to something current. J.
TBPlayer
I doubt it's related to plug-ins not being scanned in 64bit mode. J. Worth a try anyway. Try booting Logic in 32bit mode and see if it will validate the plugin. TB 8)
Iscariot13
Yes, I tried booting in 32-bit mode to validate first, them 64. Neither worked. Really pissed. I have loads of industrial metal songs that used one of the snare hits in DKH 2... I wondering if there is a way to route the audio in stand-alone to Logic...but need to control the MIDI input notes too... :/
Jordi Torres
I don't know Kompakt, but with Kontakt you can definitely route audio in and out. Check Kompakt's options to see what's there. You could use the IAC driver bus to send MIDI from Logic to Kompakt (via an external MIDI track) and Soundflower to route the audio into Logic. Take care with the IAC bus, you must block it from also entering back to Logic creating a MIDI feedback loop. You can block it like this:
Iscariot13
Thanks, but I've just realised you can download the Kontakt 5 player free from the NI website; and it works fine with the old DKH 2 libraries just fine! Sorted. Cheers guys!
Jordi Torres
Great! Makes sense you can use it with Kontakt Player, since it's basically the same thing as Kompakt. So you see, you updated to something current...but without having to pay anything! Regards, J.
