irosenberg
Hey there- I'm very new to this forum, and to logic in general. I hope someone here can help me out. I'm trying to record live bass using a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB interface, on Logic Pro 9. I can hear the bass through headphones just fine when it's not recording, but when I press the little 'R' to get it ready to record, there's so much distortion that the notes are inaudible. Because I'm so new to Logic, I'm not sure how to stop this. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys. Ivan
TitusPullo
How much signal is going to the track? I believe anything above -12db is bad. Maybe your input level is too high on your A/D device.
triplets
What happens when you click on the R and bring the gain on your Focusrite down?
David Nahmani
The first thing I would recommend is using software monitoring exclusively. Meaning setting up your interface's software so that unless the track is rec-enabled or Input monitoring is selected for that track, you DON'T hear your bass. That way, all you'll ever hear is the actual signal you're about to record, and not something else. Then you can figure out why it's distorted.
