logicproguy
hi, i match up an accapella on a beat in less then min out of logic but why when working in logic there is not a pitch conrol that exactly the fell of a turntable that does not change the way the accpella sounds? For example say you have a beat at 128 and want to add an acceplla over it, what is the fastests way to do this?
camillo jr
Not sure what you're asking for here...... in the first part you seem to say that you can match a beat "in less than a minute" but at the end you ask how to match a file to the beat. And what does this mean? when working in logic there is not a pitch conrol that exactly the fell of a turntable that does not change the way the accpella sounds? Is it that you want to know how to change the pitch of your file, without artifacts, after you've matched the beat??
logicproguy
I'm meaning is there a easy way to match up a beat like a dj setup is within logic? For example say that I have two different songs one at 127 beats per min and another at 130 and I need to match them up, in a normal dj setup this can be done quickly how do i do it within logic
camillo jr
What's your setup? (See forum guidelines, item #5) If you have Flex that might be a good start. But it's not quite as fast as what you're talking about. If you know that the two songs are exactly those beats then you could flex the one file and then option-drag it back until it matches the first one. logicproguy
i'm not sure what flex is, i'm basically looking for a fast acting process. Maybe it's better to record it in on the fly using tracktor or something.
ski
Logic isn't designed to do what you want to do in the way you want to do it. Yeah, Logic can do time stretching and tempo matching and all that. But for what you've described I'd suggest you take your own advice and use Traktor to get the acapella in time. The bring that into Logic to do additional production.
n6smith
When I need to match two tracks with different tempos I use VitualDJ Home, which is free on the App Store. Works great and very simple and straightforward to use. Record the output and then add back into Logic... Doesn't get much simpler than that and I'll say it again, it's free! n6smith
I have found no issues with quality at all.. I used it on a HD Broadcast Quality project last week and the producers were more than happy. Try it out for yourself, given it's free and see what you think... trialsin808
I regularly beat match acapellas over house music to a good result? I use Izotope Radius plug in for time stretch...very very smooth when stretching/squashing and I think flex time does a pretty quick and easy job of locking a vocal to a beat but whatever feels comfy to you.
