logicproguy Posted September 16, 2011 Share Posted September 16, 2011 hi, i match up an accapella on a beat in less then min out of logic but why when working in logic there is not a pitch conrol that exactly the fell of a turntable that does not change the way the accpella sounds? And what does this mean? when working in logic there is not a pitch conrol that exactly the fell of a turntable that does not change the way the accpella sounds? camillo jr Posted September 17, 2011 Share Posted September 17, 2011 What's your setup? (See forum guidelines, item #5) If you have Flex that might be a good start. But it's not quite as fast as what you're talking about. If you know that the two songs are exactly those beats then you could flex the one file and then option-drag it back until it matches the first one. ski Posted September 17, 2011 Share Posted September 17, 2011 Logic isn't designed to do what you want to do in the way you want to do it. Yeah, Logic can do time stretching and tempo matching and all that. But for what you've described I'd suggest you take your own advice and use Traktor to get the acapella in time. n6smith Posted September 17, 2011 Share Posted September 17, 2011 When I need to match two tracks with different tempos I use VitualDJ Home, which is free on the App Store. Works great and very simple and straightforward to use. Record the output and then add back into Logic... Doesn't get much simpler than that and I'll say it again, it's free! I used it on a HD Broadcast Quality project last week and the producers were more than happy. Try it out for yourself, given it's free and see what you think... I use Izotope Radius plug in for time stretch...very very smooth when stretching/squashing and I think flex time does a pretty quick and easy job of locking a vocal to a beat but whatever feels comfy to you.
