praecox
In Nuendo, one can hold down a key, and then click and drag the waveform within a region. Is there any way to do it in Logic? It's very usefull when looping, sequence etc. Thank you in advance J
fader8
That's usually referred to as a Slip edit. It's only available in the Audio Bin when the Bin is opened as its own window. Hover the mouse over the lower part of your region and you'll see it turn into this: <-> Drag that left or right and it will slip the waveform within the region boundary without moving the region in the Arrange. If you hold the Option key while doing this, you'll get a Slide edit, which keeps the audio and anchor stationary while moving the region boundary's time position in the Arrange. David Nahmani
In the following thread I show a workaround for the slip edit, and several users discuss their own workarounds: Logic's slip tool, a hidden tool!
camillo jr
Hmmm...... I didn't know about the audio bin method. Just tried it and found that tiny display awkward compare to the Sample Ed method..... SMPTE lock the region, open in sample ed and grab the left region boundary, via the region bar and move it around. The region in the arrange stays put but the audio slides inside it. To move the whole selection, Command-click the selected area in the waveform display, move it and then Option-click the region bar underneath and choose Selection -> Region. camillo jr
Ah, David beat me to it. Of course, he invented it!
