Johnny Cakes
I have been having this problem for a while and was wondering if anyone else had these experiences and what they have done to correct them. Often times when a song project I am working on starts to act unrulie I will save the song and quit Logic and re-launch it. Sometimes I will even restart my computer if this previous tactic does not prove effective. Sometimes, not always, the channel strip settings have changed. An Oboe has become a trumpet, a harpsichord becomes a piano and even some of the guitar pre-sets are off even though the library setting says it is the right setting. I must go through and reset all the channel settings effected, a lengthy and annoying process. This last incident also lost the track that was in ultrabeat which I was able to recover by going to an older version of the song. Any ideas? triplets
You can check the Event list in those sessions and look for any controller messages that aren't supposed to be there.
Johnny Cakes
How would that effect channel strip settings?
triplets
Wild guess here, you can set the knobs on controllers to do different things. Before saying that your computer is crazy, I start troubleshooting with the easy things.
Johnny Cakes
Good advice - I have not set up the faders to do anything on either of the devices. It seems that Logic has always been this way through the three computers that I have used since adopting logic six years ago. The worst disturbances seem to happen when logic asks for confirmation of license which happens sometimes after a reset and restart.
ski
The only message that can cause a channel strip to change is a Program Change message. No others.
