Thound
Hello! I just wondered if there was a way to fade out a take folder with the fade tool.. Normally you select the fade tool, drag/select the beginning or end of a wave file inside the arrange screen... but when you record a piece multiple times on the same track, Logic automatically creates a Take Folder (witch is awesome!) but you can not fade them out like a single wave file... you can automate it, but it takes more time and the fade tool is just easier to use for me. I tried to expand the take folder, and see if i could use the fade tool on the wave files inside the folder.. but then the fade tool does nothing, and the " take folder select tool" automatically takes over Anyone an idea? Or did the software designers forgot to put in a "take folder fade tool" ? Cheers! Edit: using Logic 9.1.
David Nahmani
No, you cannot use the fade tool inside a take folder. Take folders automatically place crossfades at your edit points (the points where you jump from one take to another). If you want to alter those fades or add your own, you need to flatten the take folder: click the take folder menu at the top right of the take folder and choose "flatten". Thound
Thnx for the info! I knew they did the cross fading, and also if you cut, it cuts at a zero point (correct me if i'm wrong!) but im looking for a fade out over lets say 5 seconds.. but i gues i'll have to do a volume automation then
jamsden
Or you can use volume automation to create the fade if you don't want to flatten. Another option is to separate the takes you want into separate tracks if you want to keep them, and then use volume automation to blend them. I sometime do that when patching in a guitar solo over the chords - I sometimes might decide to keep the background too by using separate tracks. bobsbarricades
What about in Logic 9? I notice that sometimes I get fades at the end points of a take folder that I didn't put there but they're only there on certain takes. The takes are full takes, not punch ins, no edits. Just m14-m65 for example. Just multiple takes of the same part because I'm terrible at guitar now and once through isn't good enough @_@
