Saving an instrument as a channel strip setting? [SOLVED]

Hello LPH. I have a series of effects on an instrument channel strip with the electric piano. decided it's a pretty cool sound and wanted to save it for later use on a send (for use on different instruments, vocals, whatever). when I went to save it, the only option Logic gave me was to save as a instrument. is that normal? I have never actually saved channel strip settings before (I prefer to experiment).

Is this just how it goes, and I should spend my time duplicating the effects chain on a send and then save it as a .cst there? or is there another work around? thanks.

You can save it as it is...even if you save inside the Instrument folder within your channel strip settings folder, you can load it in other types of channel strips by holding down the option key while you click the Setting menu (see pic).

If you load a cst that contains an instrument, it won't be loaded on any of the other channel strip types (obviously).
