Mr.Lithium
Hi I erased and reinstalled my OS now when I go to install Logic Studio it tells me my product serial number is invalid. Is it normal for it to tell me that and do I need to attain a new product serial number? Thanks, LWD
triplets
Is Logic Studio a full version or an upgrade?
Mr.Lithium
an upgrade?
triplets
If it is an upgrade you need the SN of the previous full version you have, either Logic 6 or 7, which came with a dongle. It will ask for that.
Mr.Lithium
I believe I have the SN for Logic Express 8. Is that the SN I put in? Thanks
n6smith
Only if you did a cross grade from Logic Express 8 to Logic Pro 8. Did you? If not it's looking for the serial for the full version of Logic Pro 8 which you must have when you bought it..... If none of these are applicable, what was the last version of Logic that you had installed prior to installing Logic Pro 8?
Mr.Lithium
Prior to installing Logic 8, I had Logic 8 express on my system. I bought the upgrade from express to pro so it must want the original SN from Logic 8 express and not the one from logic 8 pro. Thanks

Are you worried it will cause problems if you do?
Mr.Lithium
No, my system was locking up due to video card problems that's why I had to re-install. Will try it asap.
Mr.Lithium
I'm just updating my thread. I needed to have Logic Express installed prior to trying to install Logic Pro Studio upgrade. If you try to install Logic Pro Studio upgrade first the serial number will not work. Well, okay that's been it. Have a great day!
n6smith
Ah.. so it wouldn't just accept the LE serial and then the Cross Grade serial? Interesting if that is the case as I don't think, in the past at least with a couple of clients who had to do much the same things as yourself..... you had to physically install LE first and then install LP over the top but instead you just used the serials in the order they are needed. Anyhow.. thanks for the feedback and glad you got it all sorted out...
