Mainstage expression pedal problems

I do not know if anyone else here is using the Softstep midi controller with Mainstage but I am. I have an expression pedal set up with the Softstep and have implemented it mainly as a volume/wah control for my electric guitar setup in Mainstage. The problem I am experiencing is that although the calibration of the expression pedal is saved with the Softstep software ... I have to recalibrate it every time I load Mainstage or Mainstage does not recognize it. If anyone else has this same problem .....or is using another controller and experiencing the same problem please let me know. Of course ...any solutions to this are welcome ..it is very annoying.
