Mastering in Logic

Im wondering where people are usually putting their plugins like a linear eq, limiter when mastering in Logic? Do people typically put it on the track they are

mastering or the master output?

It doesn't really matter - or rather, it's a matter of personal preference and workflow. Personally I insert the plug-ins on the track, reason being, I may duplicate that track, then drag a section of the song onto the duplicate and tweak some of the settings for that section (for example maybe the chorus needs more compression than the verses).

 

Then again sometimes I also have some plug-ins on the master, for example if each track has its own compression, then I want to add overall compression on the master after that, which is going to be the same for all the sections..

 

Just do whatever's needed.
