Emant
I'm on the Arrange page, and at the bottom right of the transporter, where normally says "No In" and "No Out", the "No Out" box is blinking, alternating that with something like "X 1 0 0" . That happens only when I am in recording mode. I'm sure I've inadvertedly pushed some wrong button. If someone can help and tell me what I'm supposed to do to go back to normality, I'll be very grateful. Thanks in advance. Davide
Jordi Torres
That means that sysex messages are being sent out of Logic. Do you have any external MIDI tracks in your project? J.
Emant
Hi, thanks for your reply. No, no external MIDI tracks, although the Edirol sound card I'm using at the moment has a midi-out cable going to an USB Midisport 4x4, and from there to a master keyboard. At the moment the 4x4 is disconnected because there is not yet a right driver for the 10.6.7 Mac OS installed.

Not sure why you've connected a cable from the MIDI out of the interface to the master keyboard... But anyway, does the MIDI Activity display also show this message if you enter record mode in a new, empty project (one not based on one of your own templates, if you have any)? J. Emant
Hi, sorry I was talking nonsense. There is a MIDI cable FROM my keyboard INTO Midi IN of my Edirol. Yes it happens also with newly opened projects. If that could help to explain: I've recently connected a Novation Nocturn Midi controller, with Automap. Could that be the reason? at the moment, I didn't set up Automap into each song's environment. But I will try soon. Muchas gracias, Davide
Jordi Torres
If that could help to explain: I've recently connected a Novation Nocturn Midi controller, with Automap. Could that be the reason? Yes, that could very well be it. Do you plan to use it again? J.
Emant
Yes I need it for some pad effects, and I'm likely to use it a lot in the future, therefore leave it connected. At the moment, when I launch Logic, Automap opens automatically. Why, can that create trouble? Is there a way of keeping the Nocturn available without interfeering with Logic's well-being? Muchas gracias siempre! Davide
Jordi Torres
Then don't worry about it. No real trouble will come from it...you can always bypass it if in doubt: Logic Pro menu > Preferences > Control Surfaces > Bypass All Control Surfaces. Regards, J.
