Any way to STOP Logic adding tempo marker to exported audio?

I create lots of samples for which I often use very slow tempos (I could explain if anyone wants to know why)

Anyway - when I export my samples, they all have a marker with the tempo of the session.

That's fine for some drum loops, sure, but not for synth patches.

How can I switch this function OFF...?

Markers are not embedded with audio files*.. markers are just a way to designate locations/sections in a project file.

My guess is, you mean the tempo information is embedded in the audio file. You can try to remove it with Options > Tempo > Remove Tempo Information, but in my experience that doesn't always work.

Why is it a problem? What are you trying to do that this tempo information prevents you from doing?

* EDIT: Thanks to Eric for correcting me: actually, markers are embedded in audio files: Importing, Removing, and Exporting Marker Information

I'd like to know this too. For now, I use Sample Manager to strip that info. It's bad because:

1. When imported into another session, the session often asks if you want to import the tempo info (which is great in some instances but not for pure ambiences or sound effects design)

2. A lot of my clients are using Flash and Flash doesn't like the extra header information.

I'd love to find a way to export raw .wav files with no markers/tempo/key info.

If I'm creating say a kick drum sample and export it from Logic, it will have a marker (it's called a marker in Wavelab) at the start of the file with the tempo of the Logic session.

I only found this out when editing some Logic exports in Wavelab on the ageing PC.

I don't want the tempo markers there because (a) it's irrelevant to have tempo information on a kick drum sample (b) I don't want my DAW or anyone else's to prompt with a message about importing the tempo information.

Thus, I have to edit them all out - and when you do a sample pack of 400+ samples, that's a stage I'd rather not have to go through.

So - anyone know if this can be disabled within the current version of Logic at the time (or before) I export the audio?

Don't know if this will work but maybe if you export them all as aiff files and then batch covert to wav? The free Audacity might be able to do this.

That's what i was thinking. Not sure if the same marker appears in an AIFF file, but something to check out.

I beg to differ.

Marker names and their position is information that is being embedded in the audio file.

Yep

"Importing and Exporting Marker Information

When you record or bounce an audio file, the current Marker List is added to the resulting file."

I'd rather Logic stopped asked about it. Embedding the info is fine - but please don't force me to press unnecessary keys every single time I import a file. Argh.

I would like both options.

First: Option to exclude markers + option to exclude tempo information.

Second: Option to disable the asking dialog.

I bet you also wanted both a bike AND a video game for Xmas.

I had no idea!! Never used that feature (obviously). I have amended my erroneous statement.

And I thouhgt for a sec that the problem might be Mainstage. But I opened a new Logic Zpro project and brought the bounced audio file into it ...not tempo information! Then I tried to import tempo informztiuon from it ....I got the same message ...no tempo information in the file.

And lastly ...I tired re-recording as a test ..double checked ll my preferences to see where there might be operator error ......although a newbie ...ZI could not find any problems. The new recording had the same problem.
