THE HIPPIE
how do you effectively snap to grid your tracks, especially the drum midi track? Using the mouse and dragging doesn't effectively do this. Thanks for any help.
Eriksimon
Select all you drum notes, set a quantization value and use the Quantize command. Also, since you're somewhat tsunamizing the boards with (pretty basic) questions, try the manual: http://documentation.apple.com/search/#q=quantization Also, you could familiarise yourself with some common terms, to make searching the manual and the boards easier: http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=glossar y%26section=

David Nahmani
I already quantized and copy/pasted it the whole length of the song but didn't snap to grid perfectly and slowly got out of sync from the bass & guitar etc. The reference when quantizing is the region start (not the grid). So make sure your region starts right on the grid - otherwise quantize is going to produce unexpected results. You can also quantize individual notes with the quantize tool in the Piano Roll. Or you can snap events by dragging while using the desired snap setting from the Snap menu at the top right of the editor you're using. Maybe i was just 'spoiled' by garageband coz it's easy to snap it to grid and right timing while on Measures. I just couldn't figure it our yet with logic.
