Tragibigzanda
Have searched around for this, have seen other people with a similar problem, but no solution. Have been editing in Ultrabeat for about three hours. Once I got all the parts down and was ready to work on a rough mix, I started sending all the UB instruments out their own channel strip, by pressing the "+" sign on the main UB strip. Somewhere along the way, all the UB midi regions turned completely white, and they say "*recording." Even those regions that look green in the image turn white once I click on them. Undo doesn't solve anything, nor does packing all the regions into a folder and looking in there. When I click on a region, there are no notes in the piano roll. Any ideas? Tragibigzanda
And to be more specific: Above the effected track in the image above, there's another track called "live drums." I'm basically taking someone's 2-track drum stem and creating a more dynamic kit around it with .ubs files in UB, then effecting my tracks liberally with plug-ins. So I've been bouncing back and forth between these two tracks for about three hours, listening to his fills, then replicating and embellishing on them in UB, and often applying FX in the mixer window; I don't think I've even looked at any other window since I started! Nothing weird in my environment, nor with my audio interface/audio prefs, so I'm thinking it's all in the mix/arrange part of the architecture, or it's just a weird bug. Tragibigzanda
Bump. Have started the work over, but would still love to know why this happened, in case it happens again. Anybody?
shivermetimbers
You clicked on the Ultrabeat channel strip '+' sign and created multiple Aux strips. I gather you assigned the Ultrabeat parts to these AUX channels? You didn't explain how you recorded them to the Arrange screen.
Tragibigzanda
I programmed all the UB parts in the step sequencer, then drag-and-dropped the regions onto the main UB track's timeline; the aux strips are merely acting as sends for individual instruments from UB, but the only regions for the instrument are on the main UB track in the arrange window. Also, this has started happening again today, with other instruments: if I delete ANY instrument track from the arrange window, and it's associated regions, and then try to undo the delete, the tracks returns, but the regions are now white, with the "*recording" tag again. Only this time, if I try to open one of these regions in the piano roll, I get a new error message: "Illegal region number -1". ???
