channel volume jumping

OK, what MIDI controller devices do you have connected? By default, Logic captures incoming controller #7 messages and uses that to control the selected channel strip fader level. So if you have something connected that's sending rogue cc7's, then it will change the fader.

Also check the MIDI event lists for your regions to be sure you didn't record any.

I HAVE 2 MOTU MIDI EXPRESS 8X8

WITH OUTBOARD GEAR THERE DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE ANY CC7 IN THE LIST

OK, calm down, you don't have to yell.

Are there any controllers, eg keyboards, MIDI fader boxes, etc., connected to these interfaces?

I have a similar problem with the master fader jumping to zero...same story...no automation....didn't happen in previous version. I use a Mackie Control....I spoke to Mackie support and they convinced me it's not a controller problem. I then spoke to Apple Pro Apps Support ( Derry ) and they have confirmed that this is a problem they are looking into. Most likely will be fixed with an update. Can't guarantee it's the same prob you have but I'd beat it is.

Have you guys tried this?:

It might shed some light on the issues cause you can really see what is going on...

In my friends studio I constantly move a fader by accident because he has a Keystation 49e connected. That things things fader above the pitch bend is a PITA.

It is also worth a try to find out if the HUI faders behave strange in other programs. If you do not have one: Reaper.fm is always free to evaluate and very good for a verification test.

Hope this helps.
