OS X Lion and a Duet Problem [SOLVED]

I purchased a new iMac with OS X Lion and I am having some issues with my Apogee Duet.

I downloaded the updated software from the Apogee's website and I am currently using Logic Express 9.1.5

Here's the problem:

My guitar track will only work if I am playing guitar by itself or I click record and play along with the other tracks that are already created. The guitar track will not work if I just click play and try to play along with the music before recording.

I am getting a signal into the Duet and I am getting a signal in Logic.

Anyone have a clue on what this could be?

Thanks.

Make sure the track you are using, has the record button lit... in the track header itself. (It should be an audio track) If you press play you should then be able to hear your guitar input without needing to press record.

Have you got software monitoring on or off? If it is off, turn it on too.

There were actually two issues that I needed to address to fix the problems I was having with the Duet and Logic Express with OS X Lion.

First issue:

I did have Auto Monitoring checked and it should have been unchecked. Thanks jordito and n6smith for pointing me in the right direction.

Second issue:

In the Duet 2 software (Maestro 2) under the Output tab I had selected Instrument when I should have selected -10dBV.

Selecting Instrument created all sorts of volume control problems but selecting -10dBV allowed me to adjust the volume using the knob on the Duet and the volume control on the keyboard.

Thanks for helping out!

The instrument output is a low level output that you can plug directly into a guitar/instrument amplifier (for re-amping or for using the duet/DAW for instruments effects...). It's not meant to be used for monitoring.

I have tried the instrument output and it works surprisingly well.

It makes the Duet that more versatile.

This sounds like a similar issue to the one I was discussing in this thread: http://logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=77356

Where triplets said to do the opposite of what I suggested here...how 'bout that?

Yes I switched it off in a recording session this afternoon and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
