Eriksimon
No. 44,100 is the lowest Logic will suppoprt.

fader8
If you bounce the file out, you can go as low as 11.025k, in Logic. However, you can just open the file in Quicktime and export it to 8kHz SR, and even as low as 8 bit sample depth if you like!
mattsvoice
fader8, OK...I opened it in QT,...but how do I export it? thx..
fader8
File->Export. Choose "Sound to Wave", click Options, make your settings.
Eric Cardenas
File->Export. Choose "Sound to Wave", click Options, make your settings. And you need to install QuickTime 7 (Pro) Or if already have Logic Pro Studio and the application Compressor installed you can go with that. mattsvoice
Ah...QT 7 Pro....sorry I only have the free version. I provide IVR/voicemail services and my client needs the sample rate at 8000. Up until now, I've been importing the file into AA and converting there....which is tedious. I was trying to avoid that. Thanks man...
fader8
Ah...QT 7 Pro....sorry I only have the free version. The Logic Studio installer upgrades Quicktime to the Pro version automatically. However, kracked versions may not include it. Buy your software!
mattsvoice
My Logic is purchased....just not QT....I've really had no need for it.
fader8
My Logic is purchased....just not QT....I've really had no need for it. Then put your DVD in and install Compressor. You bought QT Pro when you bought Logic Studio. You should be all set. If you need to do a bunch of files at once, you can set up a batch workflow in Compressor. Eric Cardenas
My Logic is purchased....just not QT....I've really had no need for it. Quicktime 7 is inside of your OS installation disk. The Pro License is part of the Studio bundle. Are you on 10.6 0r 10.7?

mattsvoice
I was re-reading your replies to me and noticed you also suggested Compressor. I have opened it but there doesn't seem to be an option for sample rate 8000 wav file...if you can shed any light, that would be cool.
fader8
Create a new "Setting" using the AIFF audio encoder. Click the Settings in the Inspector and change the rate to 8k. Save the new setting and drag it to the top window. Create a new Local Destination and drag that into the top window as well. Now drag your files into the drop box and submit. Save this workflow and you can load it up next time you need it.
Eric Cardenas
The nice thing about compressor is when you want to batch convert files. Good Luck!
mattsvoice
I tried it but I keep getting this error message.. "One or more targets are incomplete. Each target assigned to a job must have a setting and destination" I'm obviously missing something...

Make sure you have only one line with the setting and destination contained.
Eric Cardenas
Here's a little tutorial: 1. Press the little plus button. 2. Create a new AIF setting. 3. Change the sample rate to 8000 and give it a name and description. 4. Drag the setting up from the setting tab(window) to the main window. 5. Select a source. 6. Select a destination. You can Control - Click to choose a new one. 7. Click submit.
mattsvoice
Eric, Thanks again man...I was dragging a destination and a setting to the top submit' box..that's why it wasn't working. I knew it was some sequence thing..

mattsvoice
of course the only issue is that it won't create a .wav so I guess I have to use QT. It's too bad cuz I just tried creating a batch and that worked great. I typically deal with many files so it would have been great to convert them all at once. You could try changing the extension to wav in the inspector.
